To Replace or Not to Replace Your Beloved Tree?

Trees are lovely when lush, but dead trees are dangerous

To replace or not to replace your beloved tree? That is the question that we can help you answer. Evergreen Gene’s is a landscaping company that has expertise in making sure that residential and commercial landscapes are lovely all-year-round. The idea of replacing the beloved tree in your yard might sound painful, especially if it’s been there from generation to generation. However, trees can pose a risk to you, your loved ones, and your property if you don’t replace them. Keep reading! We’re going to tell you if it’s time to replace your beloved tree or not.

How Do I Know if My Tree is Dead?

What you can do is scratch a small piece of bark on a few twigs of the tree. If the layer underneath is brown and dry, then most likely, it’s time for tree replacement. Here are some other signs that it’s time for tree replacement:

  • Mushrooms are growing at the base of the trunk
  • There are cracks in the trunk, or the tree bark is chipping and peeling
  • Your tree looks wounded, “cavities” are another term for these wounds
  • Large scaffold branches are present
  • There are dead or hanging branches in the upper crown
  • Fine twigs without any living buds are near your tree’s branches

Do these factors apply to your tree? Then give us a call. We can help you determine if tree replacement is necessary or not, or if there are things we can do to save your beloved tree.

Can’t I Replace the Tree on My Own?

Replacing a tree by yourself is dangerous. Depending on its height, there is a potential risk of falling. Trying to coordinate how to use bulky tools while balancing yourself is hard to do. Let us take care of the process. We’re a landscaping company that has the education on how to safely remove trees.

What Happens if I Don’t Remove My Tree?

A dead tree may not seem like an immediate threat, but it is. Its no longer durable and able to support itself, and could fall into your home, or your neighbor’s house. What’s even worse is that it could fall on you or your loved ones. A winter storm and a dead tree is a dangerous combination. Besides safety hazards being a concern, dead plant life doesn’t help beautify your landscape.
