Do You Want More Flowers in Your Garden? Here’s How

Flowers Evergreen Gene's Inc.

Who doesn’t love flowers?

Flowers are beautiful to behold. Even the most hardened person can’t deny that flowers capture their attention. Gardening can be a trial and error process. However, there are a few helpful tips we’d like to share that will take your garden from being bare to full of blooms. Here is how to get more flowers in your garden.

Healthy Soils Plays a Significant Role in Gardening

Soil that is light in rich in compost or organic matter provides plenty of nutrients to plants. It also promotes soil fertility. You can add in compost from time to time to encourage plant growth.

Get Rid of Deadheads

If it is evident that any of your plants or flowers have faded or wilted blooms, remove them, when you pluck your plants as often or as needed, it ensures that the nutrients get to the parts of the plant that need it. Wilted flowers are wasteful. They waste a lot of energy and sap, as well as attract insects and pests.

Learn the Difference Between Sun-Loving Vs. Shade-Loving Flowers and Plants

Not all plants and flowers thrive well in direct sunlight, but some do! Roses, for example, grow very well in the sun. Did you know that they need at least 6 hours in the sunlight? If you have a rose bush that’s not blooming as you would like, you should consider changing its location. Just like understanding your soil type is important, so is understanding how shade versus sun affects your flowers.

Refrain From Watering Your Flowers Excessively

How much water plants need is often a great debate when it comes to gardening. Excessive watering leads to foliage but can also cause the absence of flowering. Also, too much watering can cause a plant to drop its flower buds altogether. Moderate watering is always ideal.

  • Nurse the roots of your plants
