What Perennials Should I Plant In The Spring? Hellebores!

The Baltimore Orioles home opener was earlier this week and that means one thing! It is officially spring! Gone are the snowy winter days and cold nights sipping hot chocolate. It’s officially time for baseball games, relaxing outside and backyard BBQ’s.Helleborus flowers

But before we jump ahead of ourselves to listening to Orioles games on the lawn, we have to beautify your property. And that can be done by planting flowers! But what are some good flowers to plant in April? What about hellebores, they are spring flower perennials.

Growing hellebores is fairly easy. They are grown mostly in the shade with some moist soil. The seeds come in a variety of colors. If you don’t want to put seeds outside and tend for them there, you can start the seeds in pots indoors until they are a little more mature and have begun to bloom.

Maintaining the plants is as easy as cleaning up their leaves as they fade and watering the hellebores regularly.
